Bringing Sanitation to Bolivia's Highlands
The terrain in the highlands of La Paz is vast, but the water is scarce. In the lowlands, a little more than 100 miles away, there is plenty of water but almost no space. To meet the sanitation and water needs of both regions, Catholic Relief Services and local partners are building eco-friendly latrines that have helped both regions dispose of waste and prevent the contamination of water sources. In the process, they are combatting illness and disease.
