Ugandan Teacher Thankful for Support

Doreen Arinaitwe Kahilgwa is a young Ugandan woman whose gracious spirit and smile are instantly captivating. Orphaned when her parents died of AIDS, she was left to care for herself and her younger brother. Doreen's circumstances soon took a turn for the worse. "We were thrown out of the house. We had no shelter. We had no food. We had no education," she says. Today, Doreen is a loving mother, wife and teacher who thanks Catholic Relief Services for giving her the support she needed. "There was a light in my life and it shines," she says.
