Extending God's Healing Touch
The World Health Organization estimates that the United States has one doctor for every 391 people. We're the lucky ones. In Nigeria, one doctor serves 3,571 people; in Senegal, there's one doctor per 16,667. That's why the health efforts of Catholic Relief Services are so important in low-income countries, where health care can be limited, infrequent and often many days away, even by bus.
